Control – Reverse ratio rowing

Practice: Row with a light pressure stroke. Then maximise the speed of initial away and sliding while keeping the draw light pressure.
Type: Classic exercise.
Purpose: To start aggressively, to learn to catch immediately.
Focus: Pay attention to the immediate and fast finish and initial away with the handle(s) and trunk bouncing/bouncing out of the stomach. Slide in a controlled way.
Variation: Switch from reverse ratio rowing with light pressure to regular strokes with full (maximum) power in one go. Use the exercise Decreased pressure piece to choose and adjust pressure and stroke rate independently.
