Control – Lightening hands

Practice: Row with a regular stroke and after the finish try to get the handles away from the trunk as fast as possible and then slide towards the catch in a controlled manner.
Type: Classic exercise. The exercise Trunk throwing is more effective than this exercise and is therefore preferred.
Purpose: Learn to row with cadence/contrast. Learn to make a direct and quick initial away.
Focus: Pay attention to the handle(s), these should "bounce" away from the trunk immediately and as quickly as possible.
Variation: Handles bounce away, so the last part of the draw is as quick as the initial away. Combine this with a J-stroke that accelerates from catch to the rest point.

Crew – Adding rowers
